Why and who should buy 'Kalyug Briefs' - a collection of short stories written by me.

KALYUG BRIEFS - FAQs

Who is it for?

For  every parent & child, lovers, husband and wife…friends.

What is it about?Relationships – its various permutations and combinations. A solid solution – a way out is given at the end of each story – unlike some
stories which leaves one in a kind of suspension – which makes one feel hollow,

incomplete … even suicidal!

Why have a ‘man’s brief’ on the cover page?

Indicating the male dominated era …all eras have been male dominated actually – but now (thanks to Science) every move is recorded !Also because the Advertisement World is too engrossed with the female lacy inner
wear – the men must be feeling kinda left out – so just to give the poor men
some importance I decided to use their ‘chaddi’ (brief) on my cover page.

How can you say that it’s a male dominated era?!

Well! Still females are made to / seen gyrating up and down a pole wearing almost next to nothing – this shows that men are still making poor girls dance to their tunes – by showing them their physical strength or
using other tricks to scare them !

What others tricks can be there !? are you mad…..

Maybe they have kidnapped their father /brother or husband…maybe lover and are torturing them in some dark dungeon…I would in fact like to draw the attention of IPS and CBI Officers in India – please look into this matter seriously dear Officers.

Madam please ! the girls are doing it on their own ! no one can force on them ..ours is a democratic country .. if you happen to remember !

Hmmm…well some wicked men must have shown them the ‘carrot and stick’ incentive ..and daughters of poor or greedy parents probably were pushed forward to bring home the carrot !

Your theories are ridiculous !

They are not ridiculous – they are bitter – truth – my dear fellow/s  is very bitter indeed – that is why I have written the stories in the form of fables so that people accept
their mistakes gracefully and proceed with a healthy life.

Who is it against? Men or women?

Against none! For I look at them from an educated and knowledgeable Mother’s point of view – for it is her sons who grow up to become men and her daughters grow up to become women . Right from conceiving to carrying to delivering and upbringing – everything is identical in both the
cases. Just a single chromosomal difference (x or y) should not be the cause of so much ruckus in the society as we get to see !! The yin and yang must balance – this is the only solution which will eventually bring in the most talked about ‘Golden Era’ or ‘Rama Rajya’ as they say in hindi.

So …can we pass it off as ‘Yet another chic lit’ ?

Nope ! it’s a Superior Mother Hen lit folks !!

Anything else that you would like to say before we pack up?

Yeah! very important thing. I have written so many varieties specially for my poor Bollywood Directors and Producers ….. I can clearly see that they are left with zero originality and they hardly have anything new to offer – they are either trying to map the Western lifestyle on Indians or are repackaging  the old movies !! Both seem ridiculous to me – for we are no longer illiterate that the old movies will help us understand and compromise with life nor are we so whimsical, irresponsible like the characters seen in Western movies!!

Kolkata (help•info) (Bengali: কলকাতা ; IPA: [ˈkolkat̪a]), formerly Calcutta (help•info), is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in eastern India on the east bank of the River Hooghly.[1] When referred to as Calcutta, it usually includes the suburbs, and thus its population exceeds 15 million,[2] making it India's third-largest metropolitan area and urban agglomeration. This also makes it the world's 8th largest metropolitan area as defined by the United Nations.[3] Kolkata served as the capital of India during the British Raj until 1911. Once the centre of modern education, industry, science, culture and politics in India, Kolkata has witnessed intense political violence, clashes and economic stagnation since 1954. Since the year 2000, economic rejuvenation has spurred on the city's growth. Like other metropolitan cities in India, Kolkata continues to struggle with the problems of urbanisation: poverty, pollution and traffic congestion. Kolkata is noted for its revolutionary history, ranging from the Indian struggle for independence to the leftist and trade union movements.
