CALCUTTA ARMENIANS
The Armenians of Calcutta are possibly the smallest minority community in Calcutta. The Calcutta Armenians have a great history of achievements as a community and as great contributors to the history of Calcutta. There would be no history of Calcutta without mentioning the Armenians.
Sadly today this Community's existence is under threat from the Govt. of West Bengal, a foreign mafia from the failed Republic of Armenia and real estate looters.
The Davidian Girls School, on Royd Street is a managed under the Trust Estate of the Late David Avetick David. The Official Trustee of West Bengal is the sole Trustee. Under an agreemet with the Official Trustee and the Late D.A.David the School is managed by a Managing Committee.
The Trust deed states that NO CHILD SHALL BE ADMITTED INTO THE SCHOOL UNLESS HIS/HER PARENTS ARE RESIDENT IN CALCUTTA FOR NOT LESS THAN THREE YEARS BEFORE THE DATE OF ADMISSION.
The Davidian Girls School is being managed, illegally, by Foreigners. There is no managing Commitee as directed by the Trust deed. The Official Trustee has been petitioned again and again by members of the local Armenian community and informed about these ILLEGALITIES.
Ninety per cent of the girls in the school are all FOREIGNERS. The Trust deed states specifically that the parents should be resident in Calcutta and at least THREE YEARS BEFORE ADMISSION.
The FOREIGNERS ilegally running this School (with underhand support from the Govt of W. Bengal ) collect FOREIGN CHILDREN FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD and bring them to India, Calcutta for an education.
An Iranian foreigner is being lakhs of rupees as an agent to contact Armenian parents in Iran, Iraq and all over the middle East to arrange admission into the School. Agreements are being signed in these foreign countries with the Parents and money is being taken in foriegn countries to send these children to Calcutta. These children are given an education, FREE FOREIGN HOLIDAYS costing Rs 2 crores each year and five-star facilties ALL OUT OF CALCUTTA LOCAL POOR CHARITY FUNDS. The poor and deprived of Calcutta are bing cheated in this manner.
There is no Managing Committee which is legally managing the School. As much as five crores of rupees each year is paid into a bank accounts in a bank on Free School St. The funds are withdrawn and used by this FOREIGN MANAGEMENT. The Bank Managers are involved in this scam too.
Bank Rules are clear that the Bank has to be given attested documents of the Trust deed and legal instruments to operate the accounts. How has the bank allowed these accounts to be opened and run which involve at least five crores each year ? Who is running these accounts, who are the signatories ? There is not Managing Committee, so who is operating the accounts ? THIS IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE and the bank managers, staff and the crimninal foreigners should be arrested immediately. These foreigners have over the last five years scammed/looted/stolen more than 25 crores of rupees ? Where has this money gone ?
FRIENDS who read this, REMEMBER, the Armenian Community is the smallest community in W.B. Most of whom are aged. The younger Armenians DARE NOT take on these Foreign Mafia. False cases have been filed in the High Court, Criminal Courts, City Civil Court and Alipore Courts by this FOREIGN MAFIA to silence the opposition.

Dear Sirs,
I write to you on behalf of all the Indian citizens of Calcutta and the OPPRESSED ARMENIAN MINORITY COMMUNITY of Calcutta.
The facts are these :
1. The Armenian Community Calcutta, established the Armenian Charities and the Armenian College specifically for the benefit of local Armenians. The High Court order dated 1886 makes it clear that the local people living within 50 miles of Calcutta only have an interest in the Trusts for the Armenians of Calcutta.
2. I have sought legal opinion and got assistance from the MEA too. There is no provision in Indian law for any person/child to come to India to be admitted in a FREE INSTITUTION. No foreigner is allowed to come to India and take up free studies in any Indian institution. The Armenian Trusts are charitable trusts for local Indians and cannot be permitted to be used to EDUCATE FOREIGNERS.
3. During the last few years a number of children have obtained visas from your Embassy in Iraq and have travelled to Calcutta for FREE EDUCATION.
4. You are requested to let me know whether you had obtained any documents from the Sponsoring persons in Calcutta which will show that the Sponsoring authority has the right under the laws of India to give free education to foreigners. There are no such documents in the Armenian Trusts and Armenian College Calcutta for the free education of FOREIGNERS. There is a Judgment by Hon'ble Justice Altamas Kabir, when he was Judge of Calcutta High Court banning the donation of any money to any non-Armenians. It is clear that these FOREIGNERS form Iraq, whose race origins cannot be proved in any Indian Court of Law, i.e. whether they are Armenians or not, cannot be given visas to get free education in India.
5. We are informed that you are processing more visas for many more children from Iraq to get free education in Calcutta. You are requested not to support this illegality and refuse the visas. We give you notice that we will publish this case in the Indian press so that your actions will be opened to the public.

Your Embassy has issued Visas to these hundreds of children from Armenia to come to Calcutta as Tourists and continue to stay as students. You should note very carefully that when the children are brought to Calcutta WITH YOUR VISAS, these children are then "BAPTISED" in the Armenian Church and given new names etc. Have you been notified that these children will be changing their identities in Calcutta ?

The Calcutta Armenian Trusts managed by the Church Committee are about 22 in number. The Armenian College is a separate Trust and the Davidian Girls school are separate Trusts for education of local Armenian children only.
The Trust deed of the DAVIDIAN GIRLS SCHOOL, Trust of D,A,DAVID with the Official Trustee West Bengal as Trustee is specific for local Armenians only. The parents of the children to be admitted must be RESIDENT IN CALCUTTA for three years before they can apply for admissiion. We sent a demand letter to the OT in 2005. We reminded him that it is a local Trust for local Armenian children only. As he is the Managing Trustee he MUST see that the Trust is not violated at all. But there are more than 75 FOREIGN girls in the Davidian School.
QUESTIONS :
1.Why is the Official Trustee silent about the violations ?
2. Who gave these FOREIGN children visas to come to this country to study ?
3. Finance Ministry India Govt. has NOT GIVEN permission for vast amounts of money (nearly ten crores each year) to be spent on THESE FOREIGNERS. How are they staying here ?
4. FOREIGNERS with TOURIST VISAS are being employed as "Teachers". Their salary and support is more than Rs 2 lakhs per month. Who gave these TOURISTS permission to stay here IF THEY CANNOT SUPPORT THEMSELVES and their support is from Charitable funds ? NO country allows you to stay in the country on CHARITABLE FUNDS. Why there is no investigation about this ? How can they stay in India if they cannot support themselves ?
Indian Armenians demand an investigation into this matter IMMEDIATELY to stop any more persons coming to India as TOURISTS but continue to work as "Teachers" and are admitted as "students" when it is illegal. Indian Armenians are being discriminated against by these FOREIGNERS. In our own homeland we are treated like SECOND CLASS CITIZENS by these FOREIGNERS.
